The information is already there. It is on a page nobody opens, in a product tab three clicks away, in an article from 2023. Your visitor has one specific question and no appetite for hunting through the menu. If the answer does not turn up quickly, they leave.
For the person running the site
On the other side, you answer the same ten questions every day, by email, in chat, on the phone. The answers already exist on your site. The hard part is getting them to the right person at the moment they are looking at the page.
The idea
Most AI chatbots out there share the same flaw: they know nothing about your site. Either they answer in generic terms, or they ask you to re‑upload all of your content by hand onto an outside platform, where the data stops being yours and every edit has to be made twice.
Sennto starts from the opposite premise. The knowledge does not need uploading: it is already inside WordPress. Posts, pages, products, taxonomies. The plugin reads them from there, keeps them current on its own, and lives entirely on your server. No SaaS platform in the middle, no second place to update the same things.
In practice
Sennto drops a floating chat bar, or a launcher icon, onto the pages of your site. When a visitor writes, the bot answers from the knowledge you have configured, following the system prompt you have set.

Pick the knowledge
You choose which content types and taxonomies feed the bot. Posts, pages, WooCommerce products with their variations and prices, plus any external URLs or feeds you want to add.

Give it your voice
You set the system prompt, the tone, the contact details it may offer and the opening suggestions. Colours, wording and widget position are all handled from the five settings tabs.

The bot answers
The visitor asks, Sennto answers and shows the sources it drew on. The conversation stays open as they move around the site, so nobody has to start over with every click.
Your Anthropic API key is never printed into the front end and cannot be reached from a visitor's browser. Every message goes through a REST endpoint on your own site, protected by a nonce and capped at 20 messages per visitor every 10 minutes.

The catalogue shifts, there are a lot of variations and prices keep moving. Sennto reads products with their variations and prices straight from WooCommerce, so it answers on what is genuinely in stock today.
WooCommerce is optional. If it is active, the bot uses it. If it is not, the plugin works just the same.

Sennto connects to the Anthropic API (Claude) to generate its answers. When the widget is enabled and an API key is configured, the visitor’s messages and the site context you selected as knowledge are transmitted over HTTPS to Anthropic’s servers on each chat message, so the reply can be generated. This service is provided by Anthropic, PBC.
You deserve to know that before installing it, and to state it in your own privacy policy. Everything else, the knowledge, the settings and the conversations, stays on your site.

No, it is optional. If it is active, the bot reads products, variations and prices. If it is not, it works from posts, pages, taxonomies and external sources.
Haiku if cost and speed are what matter, Sonnet or Opus for richer, fuller answers. You choose the model in the Basic Settings tab and you can change it whenever you like.
Yes. It stays stored on the server and is never exposed in the front end. Calls to the API are made from WordPress, not from your visitor’s browser.
The bot replies in the languages your site has enabled. The wording you enter in the settings, header title, subtitle, bar placeholder, starter suggestions and system prompt, registers itself automatically in WPML String Translation or Polylang String Translations, where you translate it once and for all.
The plugin is released under the GPL‑2.0‑or‑later licence. What you pay for is your own usage of the Anthropic API, which depends on the model you pick and on your traffic. Content compression and the per‑visitor message cap exist precisely to keep that in check.
No. The knowledge is rebuilt from the real content in WordPress, and the cache clears itself whenever you save a piece of content or change the settings. External sources are re‑checked once a day.
